Rondeshya “Ronnie” Cosby, NP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner and registered nurse who brings caring psychiatry services to Bright Shadows Telepsychiatry. The practice offers convenient virtual appointments to patients aged 12 and older in and around Hampton, Virginia and Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Ronnie has a practical nursing diploma from Central Technical School in Syracuse, New York, and a humanities and social science degree from Cayuga Community College in Auburn, New York.
Ronnie completed her Associate of Science in Nursing at the College of The Albemarle in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, before receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, North Carolina.
She completed her Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Ronnie worked as a registered nurse at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, and Down East Health and Rehab in Gatesville, North Carolina, before joining the team at Sentara Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
She went on to work as Director of Nursing at Accordius Health and Rehab in Gatesville, North Carolina.
Ronnie brought her skills as a registered nurse to ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital
in Ahoskie, North Carolina, and then to PORT Health Methadone Clinic in Greenville, North Carolina.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she treated patients at The Manhattan VA Medical Center in the Midtown area of Manhattan in New York City.
Ronnie worked as a nurse practitioner with Legacy LLC’s skilled nursing center before joining Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center in Hampton, Virginia.
Ronnie holds an advanced cardiovascular and pediatric life support certification from the American Heart Association and is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and Emergency Nurses Association.
She brings her immense experience and passion for mental health to the team at Bright Shadows Telepsychiatry.
